Guiding You Towards a Secure Digital Future
In today's world, our iPhones hold a treasure trove of memories and important information. It's essential to make sure our loved ones can access these cherished memories if something happens to us. Thankfully, Apple has made this easy with the Legacy Contact feature.
When disaster strikes, having a plan can make a big difference. At AnewVista Community Services, we want you to be ready for anything, and that includes protecting your important online stuff.
Let's break down how to set up a legacy contact on your iPhone:
1. Go to Settings
On your iPhone's home screen, find and tap the Settings icon.
2. Tap Your Name
At the top of the Settings screen, you'll see your name and picture. Tap on it.
3. Find 'Password & Security'
Scroll down and tap on Password & Security.
4. Select 'Legacy Contact'
In the Password & Security section, look for and tap on Legacy Contact.
5. Add Your Legacy Contact
Tap the Add Legacy Contact button. You might need to enter your passcode or use Face ID/Touch ID.
6. Choose from Your Contacts
A list of your contacts will appear. Select the person you want to be your legacy contact.
7. Share the Access Key
You'll have two choices: share an access key with your legacy contact right away or print a copy to give them later. We recommend sharing it immediately so they have it on hand.
And that's it! You've successfully added a legacy contact to your iPhone.
Important Things to Remember:
Your legacy contact can only access your data after Apple has received proof of your passing.
You can add more than one legacy contact if you'd like.
You can also remove a legacy contact at any time by following these same steps and choosing 'Remove Contact.'
At AnewVista Community Services, we're all about helping people plan for the future. Setting up a legacy contact is a small but important step in making sure your digital memories are safe. If you have any questions or need a hand, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're happy to help!
