iPad Basics: Closing Apps and Managing Notifications are key to Mastering your iPad

Closing Apps on Your iPad

iPads have become indispensable tools for work, education, and entertainment. But are you making the most of your device? This guide will walk you through two fundamental features that every iPad user should know: closing apps and managing notifications.

When you open an app on your iPad, it continues to run in the background even if you're not actively using it. Closing unused apps can help improve your iPad's performance and save battery life.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Open the App Switcher: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle. This will bring up a view of all your open apps.

  2. Find the App to Close: Scroll left or right to find the app you want to close.

  3. Close the App: Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

Taking Control of Your Notifications

Notifications keep you informed, but they can also become overwhelming. Here's how to access your notifications and clear them:

Accessing Your Notifications:

  • From the Lock Screen: Simply swipe down from the middle of the screen to view your notifications.

  • From Within an App: Swipe down from the top-center of the screen to access Notification Center.

Clearing Your Notifications:

  • Clear Individual Notifications: Swipe left on a notification and tap "Clear."

  • Clear All Notifications: In Notification Center, scroll to the bottom and tap "Clear All."

Pro Tip: You can customize your notification settings for each app. Go to Settings > Notifications and select the app you want to adjust. From there, you can choose how you want to receive notifications for that app.
