ANVCS.org: How to Backup iPhone and Computer Photos with Amazon Photos

Updated: May 10

In today's digital age, our photos are more precious than ever. They capture memories, milestones, and moments that we want to cherish forever. But what happens if your computer crashes or your phone is lost? That's where photo backup comes in.

Photos take a lot of space typically causing consumers to spend money on their cloud storage (iCloud, Google Photos/Drive, OneDrive).  Those cloud storage applications also compress your photos to a lower quality.

There are many different ways to backup your photos, but a little used and one of the most convenient is Amazon Prime. Prime members get unlimited photo storage as part of their membership and keep your photos in their original format. This means you can upload all of your photos to Amazon Photos and access them from any device.

Here are some of the benefits of using Prime to backup iPhone and Computer Photos:

  • Unlimited storage: You can upload as many photos as you want without having to worry about running out of space.

  • Automatic backup: You can set up Amazon Photos to automatically back up your photos from your computer or phone.

  • Access from any device: You can access your photos from any device with an internet connection.

  • Security: Your photos are stored securely in Amazon's cloud.

  • Original Quality: Amazon Photos retains full resolution and size of original photo files.

I have about 1000 photos on my iphone and the internal storage appears to be close to full. I auto backup to icloud where there are about 3000 photos. I plan on going on travel soon. Do I need to upload some photos from my phone to icloud so I have more room in my internal storage of my phone or will this occur automatically. If not, how do I do this?
